Two days ago I was in Longview, Texas. It felt good to be in my home state, surrounded by pine trees and soaking in the smell of good ‘ol East Texas. When I arrived at the airport I made a phone call to the Sponsor to check in…I was there to speak for a Maternity Home fundraiser…when I called her she said she was on her way back from the bass fishing tournament fundraiser for the maternity home…I thought only in East TX! And I felt right at home The weekend was filled with so many great memories, convedrsations and fellowship. I heard so many stories of God’s faithfulness and cried as I heard a Birth mother speak about her experience of living in a maternity home, placing her son for adoption, her reunion with him in the past couple years and then she welcomed her son and his adoptive parents on stage. It was picture perfect, i cried and cried. It reminded me that God puts as many people in our lives to love on us and encourage us as possible even a “unplanned” situation like that…her decision to place him for adoption gave him 2 families to love him! I was amazed. These mothers who live in maternity homes to learn how to be amazing mothers (whether they place for adoption or parent) and women of God. I hope that one day I am as good of a mother as the ones I met this weekend!
I am passionate about life & God in a down-to-earth & personal way.
