My mom and I stood outside of an abortion clinic in Austin since today is the abortion day. I met Luz Maria who hugged me and said “Your eyes are so beautiful!”, then when I told her my name she said “Wow that is the most beautiful name!”. After I told her my story, she said “That’s why I couldn’t believe how beautiful your eyes and name were. You are glowing!” Then she hugged me and didn’t let go for a long time.
I hope she was thinking “Wow! My efforts really can make a difference in someone’s life!”
A little girl named Sarah (8 yrs old) also joined us at the clinic. She asked “Whats that building?” pointing at the abortion clinic. Then she said ” I thought this was a place where sick people go.” As a man drove by and flipped us off, Sarah said “Why did he do the loser sign? He WILL regret it.”
Another older man drove by and slowed down (from 60mph to about 20mph) to read our signs then honked and waved with a big smile on his face. I was very encouraged by how many people honked and waved considering the clinic we were at was on the poor side of town and in Austin (very liberal.)
